OK, I'll start.
For those of you selling to end-consumers, I'd like to know what level of knowledge, interest, and/or willingness to pay for more natural wines exists from them. IPM, sustainable, organic, biodynamic, naturally-occurring yeasts vs. added, FDA-approved additives or not, etc. are all game. Do the musings of the two Alices--Feiring and Waters--have any impact? Does marketing matter in this? And what of your interest, whether professional or personal? How, if at all, does this matter to you or impact your business?

Let's get this thread rolling to start making contacts... my name is Christopher Cribb and I am the head of a wine import company, Marquee Selections based out of Kansas City, MO. Marquee specializes in artisan, small-production wineries that have distinct value for the money and are from unique locations.
I and am looking to connect with sommelier's in all of the market's we are working in, new distribution partners worldwide, and have a passion for business/love of medium bodied red wines (in particular the last few weeks I have been trying all of the Portuguese table reds I can get my hands on).
I Might have to try some Chilean Merlot... I mean Carmenere if I win a trip to Chile!
More to come,

Thanks David, just so your questions don't get lost in this thread, I created a separate one with your identical post leading things off here: http://www.sommelierjournal.com/forum/topics.aspx?ID=248

What up fellow wine peeps? My name is Timothy O'Neal and I'm an occasional contributor to the best darn wine magazine for the trade; SJ... Honored I tell you! I jive with wine dinners, service, promotion, and am continually tuning the dial and checking out the various beats of the vino scene. Like daily exercise, I try to stay active here and hope others will show the support by pumping out some prose too.

Good evening, Wine-os and Wine-ettes! My name is Douglas and I aspire to a wine career. Right now I am working a day job unrelated to wine, but my labor of love is writing my wine blog, and attending tastings and dinners in Chicago. I love Sommelier Journal and look forward to every issue. I also like Wine & Spirits and Food & Wine mags.
My advanced WSET test is at the end of July, please send some good wishes, I really want to pass!

Good luck with that route, Chicago Pinot!
I'm Vanessa Trevino Boyd. The 'n' should have a tilde, but I still haven't figured out the Windows keyboard code...(anyone?)
I moved to Houston from NYC two months ago and miss good eating--restaurants pale in comparison. I also miss the subway. I can't deal with this car stuff. Aside from that, Texas has been treating me very well. I run the program for a group of wine bars DBAing The Tasting Room in Houston & Max's Wine Dive in Houston, Austin & San Antonio and just found a covetable apartment for less than 50% of what I paid to live in the East Village.
Just returned from a great visit to Santa Barbara wine country with Sommelier Journal. Thanks, y'all, for the good times!

Jake Young from Long Island, New York. I am the Sommelier/Wine Director for Chas Rothmann's Steakhouse. I also own a Wine Consulting company called VinoSOS. Sommelier Journal is the best magazine for passionate wine lovers. The unbiased, in depth coverage is unparalleled in the industry. I take all of the Subscription cards out of my magazines and hand them out to all my industry friends. I would like to see the Forum become a place of sharing knowledge and experiences between those who have a lot to share.

Hi, everybody! My name is Emily and I work in a wine retail shop in the Kansas City area. (Incidentally, hello Chris! We met a little over a year ago at an in-store tasting!). I am a certified sommelier and CSW and love all things wine and sake. I've just been reading SJ for the past couple of months, and am incredibly excited to read and learn more!

Hello. I've never really been one for blogging, twittering or any of that, but this seems like a truly worth while project. I have been working in New York as a sommelier for the past 3 years. Last year I earned my diploma with the WSET and passed the advanced exam with the Court of Master Sommeliers. My next challenge will be sitting the Masters exam for the first time next year! I am hoping to use these forums as an opportunity to hone my writing skills. Feedback on that front is welcome.

Bretton Lammi- Corporate Beverage Director for a small chain of Fine Dining Steakhouses, Certified Sommelier, Certified Specialist of Wine, and all around Cork Dork. I work the floor some nights, and travel to the other stores every other week or so to check in on them, and have meetings with suppliers and such. I was accepted to the Advanced Sommelier exam this year, but sadly had to back out- there is just not enough time in the day for me to study! Hopefully I will try for it next year.

Hello All,
I'm Adam Lee --- owner and winemaker (along with my wife, Dianna) of Siduri Wines and Novy Family Winery. We produce Pinot Noir under the Siduri label -- and a range of wines under Novy, especially Syrah. We get grapes from Oregon's Willamette Valley all the way down to the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County -- and make out wine in Santa Rosa, CA.
I look forward to this forum!
